Note on terminology

The CorelDRAW legacy documentation uses bitmap and vector graphic to distinguish between the two types of graphics:

• A bitmap is an image composed of a grid of pixels or dots.

• A vector graphic is an image generated from mathematical descriptions that determine the position, length, and direction in which lines are drawn. Vector graphics are created as collections of lines rather than as patterns of individual dots or pixels.

In this section, when a feature applies only to bitmaps, the term bitmap is used, except when referring to user interface elements, which use the term image. When a feature or concept applies to both vector graphics and bitmaps, the term graphic is used as an umbrella term for both types of content.
